Getting an EOL notice does not mean your project stops. Work through five steps: confirm the scope, find the official replacement, compare parameters line by line, verify on a small batch, then lock supply. Shenzhen Kewei Technology — phone/WeChat +86 191 2521 1182.
1) Is it really discontinued, or just a change? Many "EOL" notices are PCNs: different moulding compound, assembly site, marking or pack quantity — the part still works. A discontinuance means a new part number; a change may mean no BOM edit at all. Check whether the notice says Discontinuance or Change.
2) Use the manufacturer's replacement. EOL notices normally list a recommended replacement and a last-time-buy date. If the news came from a broker, ask for the EOL/PCN number and verify it yourself.
3) Compare parameters item by item. Failures cluster where headline specs match but secondary ones do not: package and pinout, electrical limits, temperature grade (commercial / industrial / AEC-Q100), timing and drive strength (critical for MCUs and gate drivers), and certifications. Keep a two-column checklist, not memory.
4) Verify on a small batch first. Watch the corner cases: power-up sequencing, temperature extremes, EMI, sleep current, and whether the product needs re-certification. Many substitutes pass at room temperature and fail on cold start or full load.
5) Lock supply as soon as it passes. Update the BOM part number, confirm package, batch and lead time, and do not mix old and new batches on one board. If verification takes three months, secure the last-time-buy window well before it closes.

Kewei's take: what this means for procurement
Industry-level changes end up in individual purchasing decisions: lead time, price, alternatives. Following them regularly beats firefighting.
