As battery energy storage systems move to higher voltage architectures, insulation monitoring has shifted from a compliance checkbox to a core safety function. Systems can run at 1,000 to 1,500VDC or above, and reed relays are used in the insulation detection path.
The requirements are specific: high withstand voltage, low leakage and long life, with precision sense resistors that hold their accuracy over temperature.
